The reason I like this ad is because it has no pretenses. There are no fancy special effects, no big budget TV shoot, no sound effects to jazz the ad up and make it fee huge. It’s got that straight-shooter-tell-itlike-it-is-nothing-fancy farmer quality about it. There is also something really brave about using “God” in ad these days, especially from our cynical industry. The copy is simple. The voice is perfect. The voice over sounds likes an American farmer even though I don’t know what a typical American farmer sounds like, but now I’m pretty sure he sounds like this.
Sincere advertising that doesn’t seem to try too hard is difficult to pull off.
Well played Dogde. Well played.
